O’Connor Sutton Cronin provided the full civil design for the Active Travel Upgrades along Dublin Road from Xerox Junction R132 (R125 Intersection) heading northwards towards Riverside Walk for a total length of 2km.
It’s proposed to install high-quality, segregated pedestrian and cycling infrastructure to enhance safety and promote active travel.
Key features of the proposal include:
✔️Junction Improvements: Enhancements throughout the route are designed to create safer pedestrian and cycling environments.
✔️Existing Bus Stops: Upgraded facilities at existing bus stops will cater to both pedestrians and cyclists.
✔️Accessibility Enhancements: The project aims to upgrade entrances along the route for improved accessibility.
✔️Cycling Facilities: Identification of potential locations for safe cycling paths along the route, maximising connectivity and integration with existing cycling networks.
✔️Environmental Considerations: The design will also improve the landscaping and biodiversity along the full length of the scheme, including enhancements to sustainable urban drainage systems (SUDS).
This proposal is part of a wider initiative to support active travel and improve local commuting options, benefiting cyclists and pedestrians along the designated routes.
