What is BIM?
BIM (Building Information Modelling) is the use of software to design and coordinate the building process from conception through construction. The idea is that all parties involved in a project can work in the same virtual environment, avoiding duplication of effort and errors.
BIM has been around for more than a decade but it’s only recently that its benefits have been recognized by owners and contractors, who are now embracing it as an essential tool for improving quality, reducing costs and speeding up construction.
What are the benefits?
When you use BIM in your contribution project, you can improve your project delivery times and control the project costs. You can also improve safety, reduce onsite waste, reduce errors with clash detection and avoid project uncertainty for clients.
BIM also allows you to work together with all of your partners in sync and in realtime without delay. It is a platform where everyone can work on the same project at the same time.
BIM will help you to achieve higher quality standards, reducing the overall cost of construction by up to 15%.
