The new Boston Scientific administration building is currently under construction at the IDA Cork Business & Technology Park on the Model Farm Road.
The new building will be 3220 sq metre including offices, meeting rooms, canteen and support areas over three storeys.
The building , when completed, will be integrated with a number of existing structures on site, while the development is also within the curtilage of a protected structure – the Munster Institute Building.
Minor modification to the internal road layout, new landscape areas and planting at boundaries are also included in the overall development.
The structural scheme for the building is a piled foundation solution due the existing services of the live site, concrete flat slabs – 250mm deep and glazed façade. The building has been designed to achieve Gold LEED Certification, based on the carbon , energy, water, waste, transportation, materials, health and indoor environmental quality.
