very year on April 22nd, Earth Day marks the anniversary of the birth of the modern environmental movement which began in 1970. This year is the 54th anniversary of the movement.

Throughout these 54 years, there have been many initiatives that the Earth Day organisation along with world governments and members of the public have successfully achieved. According to the Earth Day Network, this day is estimated to be marked by more than one billion people in more than 192 countries.
