  • O’Connor Sutton Cronin is currently recruiting for an Mechanical Design Engineer – Building Services for new and upcoming projects.ROLE FUNCTION
    • Solid technical understanding of own core engineering discipline and the role of the environmental engineer within the design team.
    • Provide design engineering duties to the highest standard within timeframe and on budget schedule.
    • Able to build good relationships at all levels, internally and externally.
    • Broad understanding of other engineering disciplines engaged in the design of the built environment.

     

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Strong technical ability in all aspects of Mechanical Engineering Services and Design.
    • Third level qualification in Electrical or Building Services Engineering.
    • Three years’ relevant experience, ideally in a design consultancy environment.
    • Experience in taking an active role in project delivery from concept stage to completion.
    • Knowledge and experience, ideally in a design consultancy environment.
    • Knowledge and experience of current Design Guides, Building Regulations, EN Standards and IEC Standards.
    • Experience in Dialux and Amtech.
    • Experience of client, vendor, and contractor interaction.
    • Proactive, with the ability to work well with others in a multifunctional project team.
    • Excellent attention to detail.

     

    DUTIES

      • Design and specification of Electrical Engineering Solutions to current regulations and design standards.
      • Working directly with clients and project engineers to define project requirements and develop technical solutions.
      • Develop and agree design processes and design deliverables.
      • Lead Pre-Construction activities including design development, construction details, services coordination, technical submittals, sub-contracts etc.
      • Provide technical support to the estimating, procurement, commercial, and project bid teams.
      • Provide off-site technical support to construction teams.
