Last week, OCSC completed a bridge lift as part of the ongoing works which form part of the Limerick to Foynes Railway Upgrade Project , The Maigue Bridge is a protected structure and was removed to complete repairs and repainting. To lift the section weighing in excess of 45 tons, a road closure form from Limerick City & County Council was required for the mobilization of a 700-ton crane.

Sisk is the main contractor completing the works, while O’Carroll Haulage & Crane Hire was the subcontractor tasked with the lift and removal to a compound on site. Mack Engineering is the subcontractor completing the structural works. It is expected that the bridge will be reinstalled in December 2023 upon completion of the remedial works. Well done to the whole team involved on this project.
