We are thrilled to highlight the efforts of our ecologist, Eadaoin Butler who recently played a role in the rescue of a baby long-eared owl! While working with the Barn Owl Project, Eadaoin had the opportunity to transport a baby owl that had fallen from its nest and with no safe way to reunite it, the only option was to get help from experts at a rehabilitation centre.

Eadaoin travelled from Dublin to Athlone to collect the owl and then took on the journey to transport him safely to Bat Rehabilitation Ireland in Limerick. Fast forward to a month later and he is almost ready to be released! We would like to highlight the amazing work that John Carrig of the Barn Owl Project and Susan Kerwin of Bat Rehabilitation Ireland carry out for our birds of prey and bats. Both organisations rely heavily on volunteers to transport these amazing animals around Ireland and are always happy to have people join the cause.
