We are delighted to announce the recent official opening of Woodbrook DART Station, Ireland’s newest train station, by Minister for Transport Darragh O’Brien and the Cathaoirleach of Dún Laoghaire Rathdown, Cllr. Jim Gildea. This milestone event was celebrated with representatives from Iarnród Éireann Irish Rail, the National Transport Authority, and the local community.
Located between Bray and Shankill, Woodbrook Station will serve both existing and new communities, supporting up to 2,300 new homes in the area. The station is a key part of the Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Development Plan and will play a central role in promoting sustainable transport and compact, community-focused development.
O’Connor Sutton Cronin was proud to represent Iarnród Éireann Irish Rail on this significant project. The new station will enable sustainable travel choices, reduce reliance on private cars, and support Ireland’s climate action goals. With up to 191 trains daily and a 40-minute journey to the city centre, Woodbrook DART Station is set to become a vital transport hub for the growing community.
We would like to thank the entire project team for their dedication in reaching this milestone.
