We’re delighted to announce that O’Connor Sutton Cronin has been recognised as the Winner of the Large Project Category at the Institute of Structural Engineers Northern Ireland & Ireland Awards for our work on RCSI Project Connect. This achievement is especially meaningful given the quality of the shortlisted entries.
Project Connect is a transformative 13,000m² education and research facility developed by the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. Designed to offer class-leading flexible teaching environments, specialised laboratories, and high-quality public engagement spaces, the project redefines what’s possible on a constrained city centre site at 118 St. Stephen’s Green. The development involved complex demolition, deep basement excavation, and precision construction immediately adjacent to protected structures and the LUAS Green Line.
A huge thank you to our client, RCSI, and to the entire contracting and design team for their dedication and collaboration in delivering this outstanding building. Special mention to Conor Harrington-a key member of the project team-who, although missing from the photo, was instrumental to this success.
