We are pleased to look back on the completion of this residential development on Fonthill Road, Irishtown, Dublin. The scheme provides 44 apartments and was delivered for Catena Property Company Ltd, with architectural design by Michael Fitzpatrick Architects. O’Connor Sutton Cronin provided civil, structural and additional engineering services from tender through to completion. Our work included revising the nature-based solutions design for surface water and Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SuDS), together with revising the structural scheme to minimise programme disruption during construction.
OCSC also assessed the structural arrangement and developed an efficient transfer solution to support the viability of the development and maximise the internal layouts. This involved a coordinated series of steel and concrete transfer elements, allowing the structural design to respond to the project’s architectural and planning requirements.

The project was delivered on a constrained site with single-direction access from Fonthill Road. Through close coordination with the client, architect, contractor and wider design team, the project achieved a high-quality residential development that responded to the site constraints and regulatory requirements.
