Cassidy’s Hotel is making strong progress on site, with a key construction milestone reached on the new four-storey, 25-bedroom extension on O’Connell Street Upper. The main structural frame and composite metal deck floors are now complete, marking a significant step forward in the delivery of the project. The development also incorporates an undercroft car park at ground-floor level, while maintaining access to the hotel’s existing parking facilities.
This challenging city-centre project is being delivered on a constrained site, directly adjacent to neighbouring properties and an operational hotel. The extension is supported on micropile foundations, providing an effective solution for the restricted site conditions. Works also include phased connections to the existing hotel, facilitating the installation of services, and uninterrupted hotel operations.
OCSC are providing full Civil and Structural engineering consultancy services, supporting the project from tender stage through to delivery as part of the Design & Build team. We are proud to be partnering with Cassidys Hotel Group, Monami Construction, Douglas & Wallace Architects, Tom Mc Namara & Partners, Geaney Engineering and John Madden & Associates to deliver this important expansion of the hotel.
