Dublin Airport Central has established a long-term framework for significant commercial development at Dublin Airport with 3 main sites earmarked for development (named Zone 1, Zone 2 & Zone 3). O’Connor Sutton Cronin, has been appointed by the Dublin Airport Authority as their consulting Civil, Structural, Mechanical, and Electrical Engineers on the construction of the Cluster A – Phase 1 development which comprises two office buildings, accompanying ancillary storage buildings, 1.25 acres of a recreational landscape area and a pedestrian footbridge.
- The Grade A open plan buildings will provide 41,000m2 of commercial office space and are LEED Gold targeted with an A3 Building Energy Rating (BER).
- Phase 1 buildings comprise a reinforced concrete frame structure utilizing specialist post-tensioned concrete slabs to reduce the thickness of the floor plates.
- OCSC was responsible for overseeing the Design and Building contractor’s design to ensure it fulfilled the Employer’s Requirements.
- OCSC was appointed to carry out the Civil, Structural, Mechanical, and Electrical design of the pedestrian footbridge which will connect the Cluster A DAC office development directly to Terminal 2 via the short-term car park.
- The bridge has a maximum span of 28m and comprises exposed steel trusses and a composite concrete metal deck floor.
