🎉Work has commenced on the new temporary rail platform at Adare-supporting the thousands of spectators set to travel to The Ryder Cup in September 2027!🎉

O’Connor Sutton Cronin is proud to be providing multidisciplinary engineering services on this unique project, ensuring smooth and sustainable travel logistics for one of the world’s greatest sporting events. The temporary station will consist of a platform and external concourse, built to accommodate exceptional event journeys while preserving the village’s character.

The platform’s six-month construction is progressing in tandem with the wider reinstatement of the Limerick to Foynes Freight Line-a vital 42km stretch scheduled for completion in October 2026. This enables the Ryder Cup shuttle service to seamlessly connect Adare with the national rail network, meeting trains from Dublin and Cork at Limerick Junction and supporting a world-class spectator experience.

Delivered by Cara Plant Hire Ltd and funded by the Department of Transport via the National Transport Authority, the project highlights close collaboration between Iarnród Éireann Irish Rail, the NTA, and our team. OCSC’s Marta Mares and Fiona Malone joined project stakeholders on-site this week to mark the next phase of works. We’re delighted to play our part in Ireland’s Ryder Cup story-engineering railway infrastructure that delivers for communities and major international events alike.
