O’Connor Sutton Cronin is delighted to be supporting the inaugural Model Railway Exhibition, taking place at the Castletroy Park Hotel in Limerick. Organised by the Mid-West Model Railway Club, this two-day event will gather exhibitors from across Ireland to showcase intricate model railway layouts and celebrate the region’s rich rail heritage.

The exhibition will be held on Saturday, 31 May, and Sunday, 1 June, from 11 am to 5 pm each day. Significantly, it coincides with the 199th anniversary of the legislation that first connected the Mid-West to the national rail network—a milestone in Ireland’s history.

OCSC is delighted to support this event as consulting engineers for the architectural conservation and built heritage aspects of the Foynes to Limerick railway reinstatement project. Our commitment to respecting the past while delivering engineering solutions for the future is central to our work. As Brian O’Rourke, OCSC Director, notes: “Respecting our past is essential to shaping the future. At OCSC, we take great pride in delivering engineering solutions that not only meet today’s standards but also honour the heritage and character of the communities we serve.”

Visitors can look forward to viewing the Mid-West Model Railway Club’s new feature layout, ‘The Junction’, inspired by a historic local rail stop, alongside nineteen other impressive displays, including international scenes from the Bavarian mountains and beyond.

We invite all railway enthusiasts and community members to join us in celebrating engineering excellence, heritage, and innovation at this exciting event.
