O’Connor Sutton Cronin was appointed as the Civil / Structural Consultants for this project which consists of a four-storey stand-alone structure with a two-storey link bridge glazed structure that connects the building with the adjoining Brookfield Health Science Complex at first and second floor levels.

• The total floor area is approximately 2350m² comprising high-quality medical rooms including mock hi-fidelity wards, laboratory research areas, teaching areas, IT rooms, and conference areas.
• Notable features of the project are the external feature brick façade, which consists of a specially imported Danish Brick that is 500mm long by 65mm high by 108mm thick, and exposed internal and external architectural concrete to contrast the feature brick.
• The building consists primarily of a reinforced concrete flat slab, specifically designed to incorporate service openings and accommodate architectural requirements. The basic grid is 9.0 x 9.0m using a 350mm deep RC structural slab.  The slab is supported with reinforced columns which in turn are supported on a piled foundation. Bracing to the building is in the form of RC Stair cores and RC walls.
• Due to the topography of the site, the lower ground floor consists of a semi-basement construction with externally tanked reinforced concrete walls.
• There was also limited working space within the site boundary and to assist the contractor, OCSC redesigned the floor slabs to allow the contractor to place his tower crane within the footprint of the building, with the floor slabs been in-filled as the crane was de-commissioned.
