O’Connor Sutton Cronin was appointed Civil and Structural Engineers by Axis Healthcare Assets Ltd for the Enniscorthy Primary Care Centre. This is one of a number of PCC’s OCSC have designed for Axis – others include Athy, Banagher, and Carrigaline. As a company, we have developed with the client and design team an economic and efficient structural approach that delivers on the client’s requirements.

• The new 5000sqm, 3-storey Primary Care Centre is located in Quarry Park, Enniscorthy. The facility accommodates the HSE, TUSLA the child and family agency, a GP / Medical Centre, and a Pharmacy.
• This purpose-built, state-of-the-art Near Zero Energy center has more than 150 free car spaces, electrical vehicle charging stations, and dedicated age-friendly spaces.
• The building is an economically designed building that focuses on natural light and colour to animate the internal spaces which are organised around a central circulation core.
• The structure consists of load-bearing masonry and precast flooring units with a lightweight structural steel roof.
• Site3D software was used to efficiently determine the cut and fill for the foundations which due to ground conditions were founded at approximately 2 meters depth.
• We worked closely with Quinn Architects to develop the structural design for the entrance structure along with the vertical fins which are distinguishing features of the design as well as functional solar control elements.
