O’Connor Sutton Cronin was appointed as Mechanical, Electrical, Transportation, and Sustainability Consulting Engineers for Strand View.

Located on Howth Road Dublin 5, Strand View provides a unique and vibrant new development in a prime north Dublin coastal location. The seafront development comprises 56 high-end residential one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments with an additional 16 townhouses. The apartment units are split over 2 blocks with a separate shared basement carpark below ground.

The apartments were designed based on the Dimplex all-electric solution comprising smart electric radiators providing space heating and individual high-efficiency hot water heat pumps per unit. The townhouses were complete with a high-efficiency air source heat pump solution delivering heating and hot water throughout.

Key design features include:

  • High-performance building envelope
  • Individual high-efficiency heat pump
  • Carpark ventilation system
  • Low water consumption sanitaryware and equipment
  • Electric car charger network
  • LED lighting schemes
  • Photovoltaic systems
  • Secure access control system to landlord areas

The project was successfully completed in Q1 2021.
