O’Connor Sutton Cronin provided civil and structural engineering design services for a temporary railway platform at Adare, Co. Limerick, developed to support rail access for the 2027 Ryder Cup at Adare Manor Golf Course.

Located beside the historic Adare Station on the refurbished Limerick-Foynes railway line, the platform was designed to accommodate an estimated 9,000-10,000 rail passengers per day and manage peak spectator movements during the one-week event.

The scheme included a temporary station platform, passenger facilities and high-quality public realm works, providing a safe and accessible pedestrian connection to the adjacent L1423 public road. The infrastructure was designed for removal and site reinstatement following the event.

Services included preliminary and detailed design, planning and statutory approvals, tender support, construction-stage input, and coordination of civil, structural and public realm elements. Specialist temporary-platform design information was integrated into the final coordinated design package, alongside the technical drawings and documentation required for Iarnród Éireann safety approvals and Commission for Railway Regulation requirements.
