O’Connor Sutton Cronin provided multidisciplinary construction-phase design and delivery support for Woodbrook Station, a new heavy rail station on the East Coast Rail Line between Shankill and Bray in south County Dublin. Delivered by Iarnród Éireann and funded by the National Transport Authority, the station was completed in 2025 and expanded sustainable public transport connectivity for the surrounding area.

Planning permission was granted in August 2021. The completed station included two 174-metre platforms, accessible ramps and stairs, a pedestrian footbridge, a technical equipment room building, surface-water drainage, overhead line equipment modifications and landscaping works. Significant enabling works were carried out in advance of the main construction phase, including bridge, drainage, cable-diversion and signalling-related works.

Appointed as Multi-Disciplinary Consultant, OCSC supported delivery through NTA Phase 6, with close-out support provided under Phase 7. Our role included overall project management, design validation and ownership, construction supervision, contract administration, contractor-submittal review, stakeholder coordination, and progress, quality and commercial reporting.

OCSC also undertook key statutory and safety responsibilities, including Assigned Certifier support under BCAR, PSDP services, and coordination of railway safety approvals in accordance with CRR/APIS and Iarnród Éireann’s IM-SMS-014 process. The appointment extended through handover, including the coordination of as-built information and safety-file inputs, helping to deliver a safe, coordinated and high-quality new transport asset for south County Dublin.
